Ethereum Bull Team Follows Vitalik Buterin, Contributes Almost $100K in Last 24 Hours for a Brighter Future of Several Countries

Ethereum Bull Team follows Vitalik Buterin’s legacy, making impactful donations to support hunger relief and Web3 education in Pakistan.

Location, 2nd September, 2024: The Ethereum Bull team made several significant donations to charitable causes recently, ranging from eliminating hunger to uplifting Pakistan’s youth by providing them with equal opportunities.

First, they made a significant donation of US$15,000 to Rizq, a non-profit organization based out of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, that works with the aim of making the country hunger-free. The vision of Rizq is in line with Team Ethereum’s vision of eliminating hunger and malnutrition from the world by providing food to the deserving.

Its purpose and vision are also among the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to the UN, the global population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050. Yet, 8.9% of the population currently suffers from chronic hunger.

In Pakistan, the situation is even more dire, with half of the country’s population being food insecure and the country ranking 99 in the Global Hunger Index. As such, the donation will go a long way in bringing back the focus where it is needed.

The Ethereum Bull Token team also donated $30,000 to Web3 Pakistan, which is working to raise awareness about the wonders of Web3 technology in the country and educate its youth about the untapped opportunities this nascent sector presents. Additionally, $EBULL will sponsor Ethereum development education for at least 100 students and will also launch a $15,000 grant program to support ETH developers in Pakistan. All its contributions total almost a whopping $100K in the last 24 hours.

By contributing towards such noble causes, the Ethereum Bull team is following in the footsteps of Ethereum’s famed co-founder, Vitalik Buterin. Vitalik, apart from being the enigmatic persona behind Ethereum, has always been known for his charitable works.

In recent times, he has made a string of donations to causes that he holds dear. He donated US$10K to the Ukraine DAO, honoring his donation to Ukraine and its people. Earlier, Vitalik had donated US$5 million while denouncing Russia’s invasion.

In his latest spree, apart from donating to the cause of Ukraine, Vitalik has also donated US$10,000 each to SENS and Methuselah Foundation. The SENS Research Foundation works towards ensuring widespread access to therapies that cure and prevent the diseases and disabilities of aging, and the Methuselah Foundation is a non-profit in the tissue engineering and regenerative medicine-based therapy space with the stated mission to “make 90 the new 50 by 2030.” Vitalik also donated US$ 15,000 to Tayaba.org, a charity working on increasing water accessibility in Pakistan, a country predicted to be water-scarce by 2030.

The history of Vitalik’s charitable donations goes far deeper than these donations. In May 2021, Buterin, the then 27-year-old founder of Ethereum, transferred 500 Ethereum coins and over 50 trillion SHIB (Shiba Inu) collectively worth $1.14 billion to India’s Covid-Crypto Relief Fund. In 2023, Buterin donated another US$100 million to fund COVID-19 research projects in the country in US Dollar stablecoins, known as USDC.

As recently as in the last week of August 2024, Buterin donated US$500,000 to an animal welfare charity. US$100,000 of this donation came from Vitalik’s Neiro CTO token sales. The donation was – however – more than a charitable act. It was Vitalik’s way of showing how projects with philanthropic visions can link their coin distribution mechanism to charities directly. Vitalik said:

“Charity donation is done, covering all animal coins from the past year or so! That said, I appreciate it if coin holdings just get allocated to the charities directly.”
