Binance’s CZ Issues Crucial Scam Warning: Details

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Binance’s former CEO, has taken to his X account to deliver an important warning to the global crypto community, urging them to beware of hackers.

He published that post, commenting on the hack of major crypto news outlet CoinTelegraph (CT) that has taken place recently. CZ also published a statement about a new Bitcoin all-time high and shared his take on when it is likely to happen.

CZ comments on CT and CMC hacks

CZ commented on a tweet coming from @realScamSniffer and saying that CT’s frontend has been compromised. According to the X thread, CT’s advertising system contains a malicious code. “Please be cautious,” the tweet warns.

Two days before, on June 21, the same X account announced that CoinMarketCap was hacked too.

CZ also mentioned CMC’s hack last week, saying that after the major crypto data platform that belongs to Binance, CoinMarketCap, hackers now are targeting information websites. “Be careful when authorizing wallet connect,” Changpeng Zhao warned his followers on X.

As for the CoinMarketCap attack, he stated that, according to the data revealed by on-chain analysis, the CMC hack resulted in 39 victims a combined loss suffered by users is $18,570. CZ assured that CoinMarketCap will compensate all those losses.

CZ’s prediction on new crypto ATHs

In another tweet, which came out later, Zhao stated that he believes everything before a new all-time high to be a dip. He did not mention Bitcoin, but was rather talking about major cryptocurrencies in general, including the flagship crypto. Bitcoin’s last ATH took place on May 22, when it reached $111,970.

CZ then, expecting an obvious question as to “will there be a next ATH”, did not give any predictions. However, he believes that only “a small number of strong coins will do that.” His advice is that those who seek new crypto champions should “look for long term staying power and growth potential.”

Zhao shares take on Elon Musk’s astounding AI statement

On Saturday, tech billionaire Elon Musk announced that the next iteration of his AI chatbot Grok intends to “rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge.” While doing this, Grok will add missing information and delete errors. When this is done, Grok will be retrained on the new data.

CZ commented that he looks forward how this initiative will play out, saying that this is a highly debated issue.
