Mysterious Move by Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin: “DACC” – What Does It Mean?

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has registered a new Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain name “dacc.eth.”

The acronym stands for “Defensive Acceleration” (DACC), a concept that is in opposition to the “Efficient Acceleration” (EACC) philosophy prevalent in Silicon Valley.

While the EACC emphasizes the rapid advancement of technology with little consideration of potential consequences, the DACC advocates a more cautious approach, prioritizing areas such as cybersecurity, privacy protection, and healthier governance.

Buterin’s move to mint the dacc.eth domain underscores his growing concerns about the potential risks associated with the uncontrolled development of technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. Buterin has previously said a more measured and defensive approach is needed to ensure technological advances benefit humanity rather than harm it.
