CZ’s Cartoon Double Goes Viral: Binance Founder’s Influence Extends Beyond Serious Crypto Talks

An animated look-alike of Changpeng Zhao, the founder and former CEO of Binance, popped up on social media, which prompted CZ himself to reply. The post shows him wearing a yellow Binance shirt, and the resemblance with the animated character is uncanny.

Apparently, this isn’t the first time this has happened, as CZ shared the image of said character two years ago. It turns out the character comes from an Indian animated series called Motu Patlu, which is very popular in the country. The show features two best friends who live in the fictional town of Furfuri Nagariya, where they often go through humorous and adventurous storylines.

Interestingly enough, CZ’s mention of the character (in connection to a meme that originated from his earlier post) gained quite a traction in the crypto community in India. In a way, it also shows that CZ is everywhere when it comes to crypto, even if it’s a silly thing like this.

On a more serious note, Zhao had several recent crypto discussions and statements.

For instance, he reiterated that retail investors have no choice but to participate in Bitcoin markets regardless of government actions. In a post from last month, he said: “You can buy bitcoins after the US government is done buying, or before. There is no other choice.”

Furthermore, he has contributed to discussions regarding whether new projects should build their own Layer 1 (L1) blockchains or operate on Layer 2 (L2) solutions. He pointed out that while having an independent L1 offers greater sovereignty, it comes with big operational challenges and that many projects, especially those focused on applications like AI economics, might benefit more from L2 solutions that leverage established ecosystems.
