With Bitcoin trading at $87,697 at press time, Taiwan’s government is estimated to hold about $18 million worth of Bitcoin. The country is now the 10th largest government holder of Bitcoin, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.NET.

The US government currently tops the list, followed by China and the UK. The US holds over 328,000 BTC worth nearly $29 billion, mainly acquired through law enforcement seizures from cybercrime and fraud cases.

Governments worldwide hold over 640,000 BTC collectively, about 3% of the total supply.
