Ctrl unveils its next-gen crypto wallet browser extension

Ctrl, a leading self-custody crypto wallet previously known as XDEFI, has unveiled a new browser extension with access to over 2,100 blockchains, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Cosmos (ATOM), and THORChain (RUNE), as reported to Finbold on Monday, December 2.

By offering a unified platform, Ctrl seeks to help users connect to decentralized applications (dApps), perform cross-chain swaps, aggregate portfolios, and uncover overlooked funds.

The extension is available for download on Ctrl’s official website.

The final stage of the rebrand from XDEFI to Ctrl Wallet is almost here!

On launch the XDEFI Extension will automatically update to the Ctrl Wallet Extension— no action is needed.

Ctrl Wallet browser extension

A highlight feature of the extension is the Gas Tank, which allows users to pay on-chain fees using a single balance of USD Coin (USDC) or CTRL, regardless of the blockchain.

Emile Dubié, Ctrl Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), described the Gas Tank as a game-changer:

The extension also features a unified portfolio dashboard to give users a comprehensive view of assets across multiple accounts and blockchains and simplify asset tracking, including hidden tokens or assets on dormant accounts.

The growth of Ctrl Wallet

Ctrl Wallet’s user base has surpassed the 500,000 accounts milestone, and the wallet now ranks among the top five multi-ecosystem wallets.

Existing XDEFI users will see their accounts and funds seamlessly migrate to Ctrl and gain immediate access to all the new features.
