Expert Says Most People Will NEVER Own as Much as 1,000 XRP

Crypto founder Edoardo Farina believes that a portfolio of 1,000 XRP will remain out of reach for many investors.

In a tweet, Farina boldly asserted that many XRP investors may never come close to owning 1,000 XRP tokens. His statement suggests that this amount, currently worth around $2,400 based on today’s XRP price, is a sum many in crypto either do not have or are unwilling to commit to XRP.

While 1,000 XRP is worth over $2,000 today, just seven months ago, in November 2024, investors could have acquired that amount for as little as $490, when the coin was trading below $0.50. Since then, the price has increased more than fivefold.

Over 5 Million Wallets Hold Fewer Than 1,000 XRP

Indeed, data from the XRP Rich List supports Farina’s claim. XRP currently has approximately 6.478 million wallets. However, more than 5 million of these wallets hold 500 XRP or less.

Specifically, 2.734 million wallets hold between 0 and 20 XRP tokens, representing over 42% of all XRP holders. Additionally, 2.517 million addresses hold between 20 and 500 XRP, accounting for 38.85% of holders. Together, approximately 5.25 million wallets, out of the total 6.478 million, hold only between 0 and 500 XRP.

Meanwhile, pundits like Farina believe that the number of people holding 1,000 XRP or more will continue to shrink as XRP’s price rises. They describe this as retail investors being priced out of XRP.

The Case for Holding at Least 1,000 XRP

Nonetheless, many XRP advocates urge investors to view owning at least 1,000 XRP as a benchmark for financial success. One analyst even claimed that holding 1,000 XRP could be enough to achieve financial freedom by as early as 2029, just four years from now.

This viewpoint is based on optimistic projections for XRP’s future value. For example, if XRP were to reach $100 per token, a holding of 1,000 XRP would be worth $100,000. Indeed, this is a life-changing amount for many investors.

In even bolder predictions, if XRP were to hit $1,000 per coin, the same 1,000 tokens would elevate the holder to millionaire status.

Projections and Timelines

While these projections are enticing, uncertainty remains about whether XRP can reach such prices or how long it might take.

Many crypto analysts believe XRP could reach $100, with some, such as Javon Marks, predicting that this milestone could materialize this year. However, most analysts caution that it may take several years.

For example, analysts at Telegaon believe that XRP could hit $100 by 2040, which is about 15 years from now.

Meanwhile, industry figures like CryptoGuard COO Matthew Brienen have made the bold claim that XRP could even reach $1,000 by 2035, ten years from now.

However, others, such as chartered financial analyst Rajat Soni, argue that even predicting a $100 XRP is overly ambitious.
