This upgrade, a part of the larger Polkadot 2.0 roadmap, is expected to increase the overall functionality of the network. It complements other features like Asynchronous Backing and Elastic Scaling, which will prevent the overcharging of unused resources during low traffic and ease congestion during high network activity.
