Here’s What You Need to Keep an Eye On in Altcoins This Week

Crypto analyst The DeFi Investor shared the key topics he will be closely watching in the crypto market as the new week begins. The analyst’s weekly watchlist includes critical dates that could increase price volatility in many projects, along with token unlocks, governance votes, airdrops, and macroeconomic developments.

A significant announcement is expected next week regarding Pendle Finance (PENDLE). This announcement could include a roadmap for the protocol or a new step on the product side.

On the Optimism (OP) front, the voting process for a proposal to start OP token buybacks begins on January 22nd.

Another critical development highlighted by the analyst will take place on the Ondo Finance (ONDO) front. Early tomorrow morning, $736 million worth of ONDO tokens, representing approximately 61% of the circulating supply, will be unlocked.

For Bitcoin (BTC), all eyes are on January 20th. This date is emerging as the next possible date when the US Supreme Court may announce a decision regarding Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Jupiter (JUP), one of the key projects in the Solana ecosystem, is attracting attention from investors with its upcoming “Jupuary” airdrop, expected to take place this month.

It was also noted that the Token Generation Event (TGE) date for SummerFi (SUMR) has been announced as January 21st. On the same date, data and analytics platform Nansen also plans to launch its Points Season 3.

The list also includes Zama’s public token auction starting on January 21st, while ZKsync (ZK) is expected to announce its 2026 roadmap on January 20th.
