Business Consultant Says XRP Set to Unlock $27 Trillion in Idle Capital for Banks

As Ripple continues to scale its operations globally, industry commentators increasingly believe the company is positioning XRP as a critical solution for global financial institutions.

Jake Claver, a business leader and consultant, recently highlighted this perspective in a tweet. He cited over $27 trillion sitting frozen in banks worldwide due to inefficiencies in cross-border payments. According to him, XRP is set to change this status quo.

In a detailed thread on X, Claver elaborated on how Ripple’s innovations are setting the stage for transforming how money moves across borders with XRP.

XRP to Unfreeze $27 Trillion in Idle Capital

First, Claver stressed that banks face a major challenge with vast amounts of idle capital to facilitate international payments. However, XRP solves this problem by enabling near-instantaneous, low-cost cross-border transactions.

Claver argues that banks can leverage XRP to move payments in 3-5 seconds instead of holding money in various currencies, freeing up billions of dollars previously trapped in dormant accounts.

He believes this breakthrough promises to save banks significant money while improving overall efficiency in the global financial system.

Ripple Job Postings Signal Bank-Grade Solutions

Meanwhile, Claver has taken a curious clue about the impending transformation to the banks via XRP from Ripple’s job postings.

According to him, Ripple’s hiring spree is another strong signal that the company is gearing up for large-scale adoption of XRP.

Claver asserted that Ripple is actively recruiting for roles focused on building systems for large global banks and Tier 1 financial institutions.

In his view, this move shows the growing interest from financial institutions in integrating XRP for real-time payments and liquidity solutions.

Backing his view further, he cited Ripple’s acquisition of Metaco, a company specializing in secure crypto custody. Claver believes it highlights the importance of security in attracting institutional investors.

In particular, Claver suggested that Ripple’s focus on “military-grade” security vaults ensures that financial institutions can safely store and manage XRP while maintaining the regulatory standards that come with handling large sums of money.

Ripple’s RLUSD: A Game-Changer for Cross-Border Payments?

Ripple is also advancing its ecosystem with the introduction of RLUSD, a new stablecoin. Claver explains that RLUSD is not a replacement for XRP but works alongside it.

He likens RLUSD to digital dollars, with XRP serving as the “highway” on which these dollars travel.

Furthermore, he highlighted that each RLUSD transaction burns a small amount of XRP. This essentially decreases the circulating supply of XRP and, in turn, contributes to increasing its value.

According to Claver, this dual use case helps set up XRP as an essential tool for financial institutions as they adopt blockchain technology for cross-border payments.

Ripple’s Path to Mainstream Adoption

Meanwhile, Ripple’s ambitions are not confined to the U.S. alone. Claver pointed out that Ripple is expanding in Asia, with notable hires in Singapore and Sydney.

In his view, Ripple’s growing presence in the region signals that Asian banks are beginning to adopt XRP and blockchain technology as part of their financial infrastructure.

Additionally, Claver pointed out that countries like Japan, Singapore, and Thailand are already setting up regulatory frameworks to support Ripple’s technology.

XRP and XRPL: A Win for Banks and Retail Investors

Meanwhile, Claver noted that Ripple’s success is not just about providing solutions for banks. He highlighted that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) is gaining popularity with everyday users due to its speed and low transaction costs.

According to him, this blend of retail and institutional adoption creates a “perfect storm” for XRP. As the XRPL grows, Claver predicts that both XRP and XRP-based projects will grow exponentially.

In Claver’s view, XRP’s value is poised for significant appreciation as demand from banks and retail investors escalates.

He noted that 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Ripple, XRP, and the global financial system. As more banks adopt XRP and regulators create a favorable environment for blockchain technology, Ripple could redefine how money moves across borders.

He asserted that “smart money” investors are already positioning themselves for the upcoming surge.
