ZachXBT Weighs Limiting Scam Cases Across Several Countries

Crypto investigator ZachXBT is considering limiting scam investigations for victims in several countries when he launches a new support website, citing differences in local laws and regulations.

The proposed platform would offer case reviews, scam recovery assistance, investigations and onchain analysis, according to a Saturday Telegram announcement. ZachXBT ranked Canada, the UK, India and Nigeria among the jurisdictions where he would be least likely to accept cases. Morocco, Algeria and Bangladesh were also placed in a lower tier.

The system could allow him to automatically decline cases from countries in those groups, potentially limiting access for some scam victims.

ZachXBT Faces Backlash Over Rankings

The proposal drew 1,290 thumbs-down reactions at press time. ZachXBT also alleged that users from one listed country had used bots to target the post.

He later criticized India, citing cases involving law enforcement and crypto investigations. He pointed to efforts to unfreeze stolen funds and assets linked to the Lazarus Group, as well as arrests of exchange founders after authorities allegedly mistook phishing sites for legitimate platforms.

Canada Also Draws Criticism

ZachXBT described Toronto as a global fraud hotspot and accused Canadian authorities of overlooking evidence. He cited the TradeOgre seizure, saying innocent users were caught up in the action and arguing that authorities struggled to distinguish illicit funds from legitimate crypto activity.
