Privacy-Focused Altcoins Attract Investors Amid Rising Political and Macroeconomic Uncertainty in the Markets!

Global cryptocurrency markets rose in the final hours of the week, influenced by escalating tensions between US President Donald Trump and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Bitcoin and privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, in particular, attracted investor interest amid rising political and macroeconomic uncertainty.

According to market data, Bitcoin surged 1.5% to $92,047 late Sunday, while Ethereum gained 1.99% to trade at $3,157. Among major altcoins, Solana stood out with a 4.81% increase to $142.53. However, the most notable performance came from privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. Monero surged sharply by 17.9% to reach $574, while Zcash also climbed 9.76% to over $410.

These price movements accelerated after a video message released by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Powell revealed that they had received a threat of criminal investigation from the US Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding his testimony before Congress in June 2025.

Powell argued that this situation was a result of the Fed’s effort to conduct interest rate policy independently of political pressure. President Trump, however, has long criticized Powell for not cutting interest rates quickly and deeply enough, and says the policy rate should be lowered below 1 percent.

Analysts say this tension has undermined confidence in the dollar-centric traditional financial system and driven investors towards assets considered “safe havens.” Indeed, gold prices also rose during the same period. According to experts, Bitcoin and gold are once again coming to the forefront as hedges against systemic risks.

On the other hand, market experts warn that upcoming US inflation data and ongoing political developments could increase volatility in the short term. Despite this, many analysts emphasize that macroeconomic conditions remain supportive for crypto assets in the medium term.
